Reliability of Long Vein Grafts for Reconstruction of Massive Wounds

چکیده
When handling large wounds, zone of injury is a key concept in reconstructive microsurgery, as it pertains to the selection recipient vessels. Historically, surgeons have avoided placing microvascular anastomosis within widely traumatized, inflamed, or radiated fields. The harvest vein grafts facilitates reconstruction complex cases by extending arterial and/or venous pedicle length. To illustrate utility and fidelity these techniques, this paper reviews indications outcomes for grafting ten consecutive patients at single tertiary referral center hospital. case series presented unique three aspects. First, there are two successful coaptation flap artery side limb an arteriovenous loop. Second, proportion where were used elongate pedicle. In 10 cases, mean graft length was 37 cm. We observed zero failures amputations. Although limited sample size, data support efficacy reliability long segment centers.

Cephalic Vein Transposition versus Vein Grafts for Venous Outflow in Free-flap Breast Reconstruction
INTRODUCTION When recipient veins for free-flap breast reconstruction are unavailable or inadequate, vein grafts or cephalic vein transposition (CVT) an option to provide alternate venous outflow. There are no comparative data to elucidate the indications and outcomes for each. We hypothesize that the CVT is as reliable as vein grafts when indicated. METHODS All consecutive cases where a CVT ...

A long-term review of dermal grafts and bronchial reconstruction.
Between 1953 and 1962, 21 patients presented with bronchial strictures. Bronchial reconstruction was carried out on 15 of these while a dermal graft was employed in another six patients. The follow-up period, therefore, is between 10 and 20 years. Bronchial structures lend themselves to satisfactory reconstruction. This review, however, showed that late contraction of a dermal graft may occur e...
متن کاملMorphologic changes in long-term saphenous vein bypass grafts.
A retrospective autopsy study was performed in 56 patients who had undergone saphenous vein bypass graft (SVBG) surgery 12 to 168 months prior to death. Twenty-five grafts had atherosclerosis, 66 grafts had fibrointimal proliferation, and 26 grafts were fibrotic with total occlusion. No significant differences were noted among the three morphologic groups with regard to age of the patient or nu...
متن کاملFour-extremity salvage with long vein grafts in buerger disease
Buerger disease is a rare non-atherosclerotic inflammatory vascular disease involving the small and medium-sized arteries and veins of young smokers, and is more common in males [1,2]. The risk of major amputation remains high, with an overall amputation rate of 33% with conservative treatment [3]. We present the rare case of a 37-year-old male with a confirmed diagnosis of Buerger disease, who...
